Achilles refuses to return Hector's body to the Trojans, given that Hector slew Patroclus, who took Achilles' place in the duel so Priam sets out alone to the Spartan camp to reclaim and bury his son. Achilles is impressed by the aged king's sincerity and grants him his wish, along with a twelve day truce for burial rituals. However Agamemnon and Menelaus are critical of his decision and plan to break the truce. There is evidence of a Spartan spy in the city and Andromache blames Helen but the assault on Troy nonetheless begins. Written by don @ minifie-1
