Ethel

In 1941 Reg and Ethel Christie move into a dilapidated house in Notting Hill, 10, Rillington Place. Ethel is puzzled that Christie, a special constable, spends so many nights away from home but believes he is above being bribed for special perks. However she is irate to find him in pubs with other women but forgives him and refuses to leave him despite his domestic violence towards her. She still has her suspicions about his nocturnal activities, particularly when a female acquaintance goes missing.
