Though unsure which of them killed Walsh the Douglas and Elliot families close ranks, seeing off inquisitive journalists and when Edinburgh detectives Juliet and Andrew, aware that Walsh drove to the area, turn up they play dumb. Juliet, however, has a dark secret of her own, leading to a death. The families bury Walsh in his car, after which Claire comforts a tearful Jamie though she rebuffs his advances. Miles away Peter has an unsettling text from his son whilst in Scotland farm manager Alastair demands money from Bill and Juliet airs her suspicions, leading to Jamie being questioned.
