David learns from Future Syd that he can not kill Farouk in the present timeline, as he has already done within two years. Now it seems they have a common enemy who wants to destroy them all and put humanity under his/her thumb. David now seeks Farouk, not to kill him but to persuade him to join him instead of battling each other, to join forces to beat this older more dangerous foe. As we find out, Farouk is not the origin of the disease causing people to chatter their teeth. A truce is formed, but Farouk has a dangerous request to make of David. Kerry now separated from Cary are two individual beings, Kerry learns simple tasks as eating and bodily waste disposal are new to her. Cary tries to help her along as she has separated from the bond Cary and Kerry shared with each other, where she never needed to eat or defalcate is learning simple bodily functions are new , strange and confusing to Kerry.
