Since being promoted in his Brighton bank Murray has become a workaholic and wife Bex feels neglected. To make atonement he organizes a surprise fortieth birthday party for her but, fearing further disappointment, she leaves him to move in with her friend Abby - who breaks the news to Murray. So he plans to cancel the party but it is too late as all the guests, including in-laws Paula and Don, arrive. When Bex turns up to collect her things the couple feign unity, which is complicated when Don and Paula present them with a romantic holiday - to be taken immediately. Written by don @ minifie-1
